The Pony Tail plant is a commonly grown houseplant. It is native to Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala. They prefer dry winters and do well with indoor heated air. Their growth can span over 2ft diameter. They are characterized by a swollen, thick brown stem as its base, and long, narrow, curly dark green leaves that grow upwards and cascade over.

Bright, indirect light is best
Soak soil about once a week and allow water to drain through the bottom of a pot or dish
Can survive in moderate neglect but best to keep consistent care, as this plant can last a long time when treated properly

Should be fertilized, preferably with a liquid fertilizer due once or twice per month during the growing season and once a month in winter
